Stressed BTA?

I just recently got my fish shipment in today, and noticed the BTA I got looks a lil sad.
I didn't know what to do, so I put him in the tank in a suitable looking spot ( pretty bright and good flow) he can move if he so wishes, but after looking at it for a bit I noticed his foot wasn't attached fully, about half of it was still sticking up, and it's mouth is i little open... Not wide open, but the occasional strong water flow can open it slightly.

This is my first nem so I'm clueless to this other than the stuff I've read up on .-.
He also has red spots on his foot, they look like markings, is that normal?

Danke for any info ^^!

Pictures would help a lot

Here, it moved to this spot on its own. His foot seems to be sticking better, but the mouth is still funky looking... It's been 2 days since shipping.

You just got it two days ago? it looks fine. Give it a week or more and let it settle in and acclimate to your tank

All it needs right now is sufficient flow, lighting, good water parameters and stability, NO big swings.

I belive the flow is pretty good, most of my fish have trouble swimming in the current around that part of the tank.
I had it closer to the light but it moved under the rock I had it on. I belive this is my current light, only mine fits 55 gallon lid. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006Q...X110_SY165_QL70&keywords=deep+blue+light+bulb

I also have an actinic, but I turned it off for the pictures..

All my perimeters stay stable, but my nitrates are around 10? Should I water change?

Well to me it looks like your nem got too close to a powerhead intake. From the picture it seems that part of the oral disc and base have been ripped off.
It is also very bleached.
If I had it I'm sure I could bring it back but if I were you, and you could, I'd return it and ask for a healthier nem.
It will need a lot of TLC.

You didn't say how many bulbs you use. When I was doing compact fluorescent I had 96 watts on a 10 gal tank.
I think you should look into LEDs. The Chinese ones are very inexpensive and good.

I got it off saltwatrfish.com, so I can't really return it >^<

I'm willing to try and give it as much TLC as I can, but Im not experienced with anemones.

It's also a little darker in person, I would have gotten one at my Lfs, but their nems never look too good and they never have bubble tips... I think it's the lighting.

I use a daylight bulb t5 ( link above to Amazon is exactly like mine just shorter)
Also an actinic bulb but i don't know the exact power on that one. I'll check as soon as I can, the bulbs have info on them. But the previous owner of the tank hood had BTAs living just fine in his tank.

Okay, I just checked my bulbs and they are 54w daylight 10kk and 54w actinic .03

When I put the bulbs back on the tank my anemone shrank at least 75% and was expelling brown stringy stuff. I take that as bad news?
