Stressed Out

No I havent tried leaving them down lower. And I have not dropped anything in the tank. My lights are about 8 inches above the tank. And my tank is 34 inches deep.

I doubt it is starvation as well. My 120 was at 0 phosphates (chlorometer) and I never lost a single coral. Colors were/are washed out, but no losses. Post back with your findings on the temp and salinity. I think one of those may be most of the issue. Also, as mentioned above, check all your test kits to be sure they are still good. Also, definitly check the date and/or batch number on the Salifert alk kit. They had a lot of problems with them reading incorrectly. Oh yeah, and magnesium levels won't kill sps.

Some fish food contain copper, I lost a coral directly under my feeder and traced back to the food and it contained copper, I guess to help with disease. The food did not say NOT REEF SAFE sure made me mad.

I would also test the water from the source of the purchased coral (LFS?) see how close the params are. Have all the corals came from the same source?
And could you describe what the dieing or dead coral looks like ie Receding tissue, overall bleaching ,algae growing over.
Also what are you feeding your corals and how often?
