Stringy feelers, what are they?

I have a cave and every night some really long stringy feelers go searching for food. What is this? I can't see any body as it's coming from the roof of the cave which I can't see. But they're really long and they actively search for food, but when they get scared, they retreat back into the cave. Anyone know what this is and what should I do about it? it doesn't seem to harm anything, but since I have never seen this, I worry.

sounds like a spaghetti worm - harmless, eats detrius from the substrate, you might observe it picking up grains of and from teh bottom and then droppin it in a small pile under it's burrow.

Yep, I have noticed it picking up grains of sand. whew, thanks!

They are good to have. If you have a wrasse it might eat it.
