Stubborn Aiptasia

I need some help with some pesky aiptasia. I've tried lemon juice and AiptasiaX, and neither seem to be doing the trick. The lemon juice just ****ed them off and made them put out spores and multiply. The AiptasiaX appears to work at first, but after a couple weeks they start popping back out. And it's not spores, it's the original aiptasia coming back out. Any other ideas?

Over the years I tried everything Joe juice, Peppermint shrimps ect… But what did work for me is Copper band butterfly ( till she/he die) I could not get a replacement to stay a life so I got a filefish and this took care of them for 5- 6 years now

I would try a filefish, but this is a 34 gallon Biocube and I can't add anymore fish.

Have you tried boiling some tank water and blasting them with it?

Peppermint shrimp works best for me. Bought 2. And they wipe out aiptasia in 3 days.

If you decides to buy peppermint shrimp, not to be mistaken with camel shrimp.

I boiled some tank water and lemon juice. Squirted them with a baster.

I had a lot of trouble getting rid of my aiptasia with chemicals. I bought a peppermint shrimp and they were gone in a few days! If u have room in tank for 1 I would recommend getting 1.

I think a combined approach is the way to go. Get one or two Klein Butterfly fish. They don't seem to bother the coral, and if you put them in together, they don't fight with each other. Get several peppermint shrimp, and then go to shooting the aiptasia. You have to approach them slowly to get the needle right over their mouth so they injest and die. If they close up before you get them the full load, then they are injured, but they come back. At least in my tank the shrimp get the ones on the bottom, so I do the manual shooting with those on the top. Don't do what I did and do too much right away, or you'll have white residue in your tank for awhile.

I have had really good luck with a 455nm 5mw laster cooking them. You can get them on ebay for 60bucks. If you are buying lots of aiptasia-x this is by far cheaper in the long run.

I'm certainly no expert on lasers. After seeing this laser post I found this thread:

If you read the first couple of pages of the thread, you'll be off buying a laser, but if you go to the end of the thread, the conclusion from the guy who started the thread is that lasers do not work.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! I'm probably gonna try the filefish and a peppermint shrimp if that doesn't work.
