Stubborn Ich- help please

Did either of you go to college and are marine biologist. They took the classes and passed so I think they are a bit more qualified. It was their decision to kill the tank to benifit the fish. Better alive and cured than dead. If anything they looked outside the copper cure all box and treated the fish and were honest about it. Even Martin Moe states in his book that when all else fails..start the tank over. Sorry you can't look in any other direction other than tank transfer and copper. Sometimes they don't work.

Uh, yes and no- marine biology is too limited of a field. And being a marine biologist does not make one and expert on parasitology, as evidenced by not being able to sustain a healthy system. What moe said 25 years ago about starting a tank over was true then-and to a lesser degree is now-but that is geared towards the hobbiest, not a trained professional in a retail setting. I do not believe I have ever suggested copper as anything but a last resort. If you read the stickies and listen to people like mr tuskfish, snorvich and others- then perhaps you can help these biologists. Now understand- I disagree with these guys and the stickies on some subjects, but they offer the advice that is likely to help the most people.

Moes book was revised and it is still in there. As to killing the system, to me that is the responsible thing to do. They did not continue to sellfish to others. They solved the problem quickly and did not loose a simgle fish.

Okay guys, here is the update.... last Thursday I did my 6th transfer--- day 16 and still had visible ich on two fish. As of my transfer Sunday-- fish appear to have No ich, but have some nasty looking scars where the parasite was attached. My scopas has roughly 200 brown discolored spots where the parasite was and my blue hippo tang has roughly 25 that appear to be black spot discoloration. I'm not going to lie it's hard to tell if there is any ich left with all of these scars on the fish..

Should I do another transfer after Wednesday? Or put them in their next permanent QT area? Also, any idea if these scars will go away? I will get some pictures on Wednesday for you guys so you can see what I'm talking about.

Still nobody has answered my question as to why this crypt has had almost double the life cycle of what it says by the books? Could someone chime in on this?
