Stubborn True Percs

Hello I was just wondering, I have had this pair of Percs for about a year and a half now and they have not gone to an anemone yet. I have tried all the tricks and nothing has worked.

Would they be so picky that they would only host their main kind (carpet anemone) Because the female will go up to the anemone has gotten her face near it but just wont host. Right now in there I have a large LTA. Which i know isnt there main one but i have had bubbles and am scared to get a carpet bc they eat everything!!!

I also have a pesky damsel who is basically the boss of the tank and beats up on the pair. The pair sleeps by the filter!

Just looking to see if you guys have any opinions on what I should do b/c all I want is a pair of clowns to host an anemone.

Good luck. My blacK and whites decided to host with my mushrooms. I couldnt get them to host with my Rose tipped bubble anemone.

Some of its just a matter of luck. They might eventually host in the anemone, the might never. I had one that became obsessed with a frogspawn I had a while back.

But do you think it has to do with the type of the anemone...should i try a carpet or should i just leave them in there

Do you think the damsel has nething to do with it?

I would think the damsel would drive the clowns into the nem. What nems have u offered the clowns as a host?

Clowns will be clowns, one of my males will jump into every coral it can, Rics, xenia, frogspawn, hammerheads, leather corals , but refuses to go into an anemone, while the female will go into nothing but a BTA.

And i may be wrong but i dont think Flower anemones were meant to host and could even eat your clowns.

It all really comes down to your clown's personality

Thing is the female will go up to it alot and then right when the damsel see's her do that he jolts at her and she swims away. The damsel doesnt even go near it until the female goes close so whats up with that??

Was the damsel in the tank before the clowns? how big is your tank?

If the answer to the 1st question is yes and the tank is not relativly that big (40g or less) then i think the damsel is just defending its territory

i just did a aquascape like a week ago and the clowns were in there 20...10 minutes b4 the damsel was put back in...i have a 20 gallon
