Stuff for Sale

TitansFan - The light is spoken for. I have you on the list if anything falls through, I'll move down it.

brian, i'll have to pass on the skimmer......had bad news today...got a call earlier, my grandma from laos just passed, so i'll be chippin' some money for my dad to help pay for the funeral expenses.........thanks though

Brian, thanks again for the skimmer, it's already hard at work pulling stuff out of the tank (I removed the adjuster valve, maybe that's why I have good luck with these things?).

Tanks looking real good too, you guys do great things with saltwater!

John, sorry to hear about that. My sympathies to you and your family.

Matt, I'm glad to hear it is working for you. When I had it working well, it did a lot of skimming for a little guy. How does the needle wheel compare to the fishing line mod?

Hmmm... GREAT idea on removing that adjuster valve. I think the only reason its on there is to use when you're breaking the skimmer in (according to the manual).

Will the adjuster valve just come off and the pump go straight into the small tubing or did you connect it directly to the plastic?

I'm definitely going to do this. It would get my pump higher out of the water and should improve the efficiency being able to more easily draw air in.

Thanks man!

Brandon

Brian, honestly, I can tell no difference between the two pumps. It MIGHT help some, but not a ton.

Brandon, just pull the valve and the pump will plug right into the tube. The pump outlet and the plastic on the intake are the same size, so you have to use the tube as a coupler. I think it sitting higher up helps alot. The CSS65 I got from Brian is about 2" below the surface, and my other one has a different valve in between (I broke the original valve, and I guess I replaced it with a generic, but smaller one, I thought I had removed it) so it's right about 3". I'll be removing this valve as well, should help it some.

Sweet... thats what I was hoping. :)

Thanks Matt!

Just to update this thread, the only thing that is left is the ASM G3. I'd definitely entertain offers on it, but it's going on the selling forum as soon as I can find a big enough box.

Anyone want to tackle this question for him...

My philosophy is that it is hard to over skim (and if you think you are, just put the thing on a timer), so I'd be inclined to answer that it will work fine as long as it will fit.

Other people in the club may have other philosophies.

At least you could move up on tank size without buying a new skimmer...
