deep sand bed - typically about 6 inches

well what you see in the pic above is my tank with ~45lbs in it... so i wont be able to put that much... plus i am a big fan of open sand spaces... i have some branch style i may use like you did to create more sand surface and to let water circulate, but i really am a minimalist when it comes to rock...

if i could i would saw a flat edge onto all the rocks and epoxy them to the wall and have a full 12" sand bed with the occasional rock thrown about to make it look more natural...

well see what i come up with when i setup the display

6" of sand? How high are these sumps/tanks to be able to hold 6" of sand? What's the point of having that much?
