Stupid Aquanotes iPhone app question

All the download sites specify "when connecting using Aquanotes, be sure to use port 80".

If one is forced away from port 80 due to an isp blocking it, is there a way to use it? It will let you change the port, but when I change it to the port I'm using it has a failed connection (and I'm able to access the Apex using the correct port both from outside my network, thanks to RussM, and from within).

TIA

I'm using port 8080 but I'm using the router access port (ATT Uverse) to access aquanotes on the IPhone 4.... ie my apex IP address is 192.168.200.1:808 but it's external address is 74.162.4.11:8080. so on the phone i setup aquanotes to use the 74...... address.

Yes, on the Controller setup page there is a field for the port. I don't have any issues using it with DynDns. Are you sure you are using the external address in the Host field. You will need to set up two Controllers, one for internal if you are using wireless, and another for external.

Port 80 is probably opened/forwarded by default on your router.

If you change the port from 80 an it doesn't work, you need to find the ip address assigned to the apex and under the port forwarding page of your router you will need to have whatever port you decide to use forwarded to the internal ip address assigned to the apex.
