Stupid Simple Canopy

So I've been wanting to get a canopy ever since I got my LED's from a local reefer. I put them up and wasn't crazy for the light spill I was getting.. Granted if I had a rimless tank I wouldn't care due to the sexiness!!! lol.

So I finally built a canopy today and would have to say, it was probably the easiest thing I've ever done. I even hammered every screw in since it was my day off and I wanted to take my time lol.

I started off with the frame and matched it perfectly to my tank. 48.5"x18.5" using super light 1x2 pieces of wood. I then took 4 10" legs and put them in each corner of the frame, lifting it.

Went to Lowe's and picked up some 11/32 Plywood, cut-to-order, and simply just put it over the frame and put it all together. Looks awesome and is super light.

I then just painted it with a Plastidip can, which I love using.

I hung my lights from the ceiling, obviously leaving the canopy and "open-top." So if I ever just need to get right in, it easily slides right off and I could set it aside.

All together, this ran me about $30!

Simple, Light, Clean.
