Stupid Skimmer Question

Some time ago my daughter called me at work and said that my EuroReef skimmer was making a terrible noise so I told her to turn it off until I could take a look at it. When I got home I could not get the skimmer to start up and do anything. Based upon the fact that the water level in the sump was low I assumed I had burned up the pump.

Recently I took it all out of the sump, cleaned it up and evaluated everything. The pump still worked no problem but when I put it all back in the sump once again nothing! Undoubtedly something simple that I'm overlooking but I could use any suggestions.

Thx

Rob

clean out the venturri-it might be clogged. Is the pump pumping water? PM CFarmer he knows those skimmers

if you have a problem PM me if you need a replacement pump until you can get one i have one you can borrow

could have beeen the air line cloged will cause it to run out of the skimmer fast and make a lot of noise

Capncapo - I should probably be too embarassed to admit this but after struggling with the pump trying to figure out what was wrong with it I finally did and you were right. The outlet I was plugging it into wasn't working! So for all the rest of you just in case you were wondering these electric pumps only run when there is actual current running through the outlet to run them! :)

Chad - Thanks very much for the offer and I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. Your offer was very generous and appreciated even if I was so rude as to fail to you so until now.

Electricity! Who would have thunk it!
