Fortunately when I spill water threw the floor into the basement, it lands on the laundry chute pile...hehe

I assumed nothing would ever block my drain going down to the basement sump. An Astrea snail went into the overflow and blocked the drain. Sent 80 gallons up on my new hardwood. Luckily no damage but now I have two forms of emergency protection, water sensor on the hard wood and a main tank high float switch that kill all power and send an email via my apex if water is detected.

My wife and I were the lucky recipients of the 'Grand Prize' at ABCReefs (Syr) frag swap a couple of years ago. Got this sweet 65g set up! I had a little 28g, but we were just starting up. Got it drilled for the overflow, plumbed the tank, got some paint and painted the back with 3 coats of matte black, filled the tank and..... Oh Crap!!! The tank leaked! Dave and Dave at ABC tried heroically to seal the tank, but, alas, a new tank was ordered (free from Company), Dave drilled it again (free!), and I got another can of paint! Lost a month and a lot of self-induced aggravation

Lesson learned! And thanks to my LFS for bailing me out!

removed overflow pipe to clean, decided to put a fine mesh fish net over the drain bulkhead to keep fish out, hours later it also keep water out!

Pretty much guilty of most of this.

Worst was forgetting to shut off my RO/DI when I first got it setup. No Auto Shutoff. Got a text from the GF when I was in Scranton... "Is the water running downstairs?"

*#$%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I replied. We had quite a bit of fresh RO overflowing from the brute. Not a good day.

How about pounding some beers and then decide you want to move stuff around in ur tank. I've caused a few rock slides that way.
Leaving the kalk on too long at full open to top off the tank and turning the water milky white
I know i've done more than that but i've embarassed my self enough...lol

I feel for all you guys above because I went thrue it 10 years ago.After 3 major floods with an undrilled tank and my wife going into orbit I had to give it up.But I am back now with a little more knowledge and knowhow it can work!!!!
