stylo

I am trying to decide what frag I want to pick up next, and I am leaning towards a pink or green stylo. I am having some good success with a pocillipora (sp?) two montis, one orange and the other purple, and a staghorn. I am also nursing a digitata back to health. I run a 28 jbj hqi with a vortech mp10 with no skimmer. Weekly 5 gallon changes and rinsing out the filter floss and changing carbon. I run chemi pure elite as well. I was told that the stylo would be hard for me to keep, but I want to try it. What do you think?

stylo's aren't that hard to keep, I'd say if you have had success with other SPS then a stylo will be just fine.

+1 with others, if you are having success with SPS and similar to Styo especially SPS then you'll probably be fine.

I know it's not the subject of the post, but if you are keeping SPS why not add a skimmer? It can only help keep the organics down and give you a little bit of security if you are late with a water change, increase/change feeding or food, or if something unexpected happens. Personally I wouldn't keep SPS without one.

sweet. I dont have a skimmer because i only have two clowns in the tank, and im never away from home for more than a week. I have seen some great looking sps tanks without, too.

Fair enough--sounds like you'd get one if you needed one. Good luck with the stylo! :celeb1:

Stylos are great corals. But look into other colors than the standard green or pink. Look for the blue/rainbow or the purple.
