You dont see this one too often, but i have had one for awhile and love the colors. Most people mistake them for montipora. They are easy to tell apart since stylocollenia has sharp spikes in the skeleton

Here is mine.... also picked up a pink polyp one a couple days ago

Do you guys have pics of yours?

Well since no one else has responded I'll just say that's a really nice looking coral. I don't see why they're not more popular. I've had my eye on the one at Cherry Corals, but it's a little more than I'd like to spend.

Didn't know they had spiny skeletons, that's interesting.

I have something similar, but the base is more light blue.
I think its a digi, but not sure.
This is my new favorite coral.
Perhaps they are related?

Here is the one I bought in the WWC live sale...It has been sitting on a frag rack for a few weeks because I really have no idea where to put it. What type of light do they light? I have a 210 gal tank lit with 250w MH. It is called the Jason Fox Insane Stylocoeniella.

i have this one that was picked up at the michigan frag swap, from cherry corals, was sold as a monti, i think it could be a sylocollenia.. can anyone confirm?

Do you have Coenosteum spikes in between the corallites? I can't see any from here.

From looking at what i can see on the corallites and the polyp tentacle count. I would guess a really colorful Alveopora species.

Thanks! It absolutely glows...it's one of the most fluorescent corals I have. It's now in a nearly shaded spot...and is still growing on the underside of the rocks mostly. I'd never be able to capture its full glory due to the way it's growing.

Nice ones guys as for dukester yours looks like a montipora, a very nice montipora! Mech nice pickup that one is sweet! Frick did yours color up anymore?

I'm with Frick on Dukestar's coral...looks like an Alveopora to me (tentacle count).

I'm sure it's not an elivapora , it's hard to tell but the polyps are much too small, that frag in the photo is only 3/4" square. I'll try and get some newer better photos.

No I actually was initially giving it too much light, because it gave of some gas bubbles out of the mouths of the polyps. Seems to be the same color for name I just hope it doesn't bleach later on.
