Stylus 1030

My wife would like a digital camera for her birthday coming up. I currently have a Nikon D40 and she dosen't like to take it anywhere for fear of breaking it and its bulky size.

My wife and I love to snorkel when we get to go but have always been disappointed with the pictures underwater disposable cameras take. I have been interested in the Stylus 1030 for it possible use in the ocean. Plus you never have to worry about getting it wet. Does anyone have any recommendations on this camera.

I remember your thread now, I had forgot it was the same camera.

I did end up buying it. Got it for $359.99 $CDN I also bought a 4GB microSD card with it.

I put it in my tank yesterday to test it and my wife had a fit!

Now she is claiming I bought it for me and not her! LOL

Can't wait to start playing with it in my tank

For those interested in this camera, make sure to check out the Pentax w60 as well. Similar in features, though it cannot go as deep. One thing you'll read about the olympus is that it generally gets mediocre reviews when it comes to photo quality - in my experience the pentax line of underwater digital cameras takes superior photos.

Just my humble opinion!
