Submerged lighting

Has anyone made their own underwater lighting? I'd like add submerged lighting for my outdoor heated pond. The external lights I currently use glare off the surface, making it impossibile to see my fish and it quite hard on the eyes. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you 30.....Unfortunately I am on a limited budget and have checked into those, but can not afford to buy outright... :(

I bought a set of 3 pond lights at lowes for about 60 bucks and I love em! Came with a small transformer with a dusk to dawn sensor on it. I've had them about 3 years and haven't even replaced a bulb. I don't think you can DIY much cheaper or safer.

MR16 12volt halogen usually.

I have had good luck using landscaping low voltage flood lights. I staked them right at waters edge and pointed them down. Some moss or plants cover them up and it adds a nice soft light to the pond.

I had an idea for something like this.

I am going to wire up 4-6 leds together and epoxy them into a head of some cheapo flash light(s). 99 cent store has these.

the epoxy will seal them, led's so they should last a long time.
The flash light head should have some cheap reflector built into as well.

Get a power converter of some sort such as from a set of speaker for your computer (12v) or a power drill etc...
get some resistors to take the power from 12v down to about 3 to 3.5 and it should be set for some real mild lighting.

I already build a led night light for my aquarium. 8 blue leds's 8 white leds. 12v power from some old comp speakers I had.

I have been thiking about putting some lights down in the gravel shining up. just havent had a reason to do it, or anything to shine it on.
