i am running one on my excalibur skimmer and would like to replace it before it explodes in my tank.... what would a good or even maybe better substitue for this pump? thanks....

LOL, i had the same issue, then it just stoped working basically. Had a flow of about 1 gph lol, impellar snapped. I bought another rio, but I got the rio 600. The new 600 give the same gph minus 2 than the old 800's. The 600 does a perfect job.

but the thing is, im trying to get away from rio because they are absolutely awful... i have seen too many posts where someones has exploded, leaked oil or caught on fire in there tank, and did a lot of damage.... so what are the alternative brands that would still work with a skimmer?

would i be able to inject bubbles for my skimmer? i didnt think mags had options for that.....

for some reason the link didnt work.... i was able to find it though...70 bucks seems a bit pricy, but if it does a wonderful job then i would be tempted.....thsoe are the same type of pumps that come on Euro reefs, correct?.....im thinking about just buying the same pump but the UL listed one...ive heard people have had better success with them....any other opinions? and BTW, thanks sjm817 for the help...

i added an air pump to mine.... they arent that great, but after i added the pump.... i get half cup everyday.
