i have a 20g tank with a maxijet 900 in one side opinted across, it seems to work best there to keep good water movement in the most areas of the tank, which seems to clear up my cynao or whatever its called

i had a damsel for a while that was fine, he mostly hid in some rocks

gave it back to the petstore because it didnt like anything else in its side of the tank

i got a clown 2 days ago, it died today for un known reasons, maybe i didnt acclimate it good (probly, i messed up there and just put it in) it was fine at 1st, but seemed like it got tired, which i guess makes sense when its dying

i got another one and introduced it the right way over about 2 hours nice and slow

he seems to just be swimming in one small area against the current in the end facing the glass, seems wierd?

i thought maybe i have too much flow and they get exhausted ha

i just dont want to loose another one, they tested my water today when i was there and said everything was good. i keep the temp around 78.5 and salinity around 1.022-23

the damsel and a crab have been fine in there for about 2 months

There is a thing as to much but effects coral before any fish.I dont think you have to much flow. You need to kit a water test kit and check basic readings. This would help.
But adding a new fish isnt anything you rush.He need to adjust to salinity , temp , water quality.Let him float and add small amounts of tank water over a 30 or 45 minute period and turning main lights out helps. But if water readings are wrong this may not even work.

i do have a kit, everything is fine, i was just saying the "pro" at the store tested it and said everything was good just to verify i reading right

i added him to the tank pretty much just how you said but even slower, but lights were on

as for the flow, the only reason i thought that is because they he seems to be swimming to hard against the flow, then when i shut off my power head he just chills out and acts sorta normal, back on, hes swimming at the glass non stop at the end of the tank. maybe its just stupid or its just because its new

Little low but if its your only fish im sure its fine.Could just be normal just turn all the lights out to help for a day or 2.

I had a pair of clowns that stayed in one area of the tank for years...? I guess it was just "home" to them? Sure after a few weeks they would swim out into the colum for food or to "streach" out but then right back to their spot... This is good if you ever need to catch one :) I could just reach in and grab them with my hand.
I think your fish is fine? seems to just be the way they are (some at least)

woke up today, was in the same bottom corner swimming away. came back an hour later still there, unpluged my power head, and he started swimming around the tank as soon as the water stopped moving. i dont know..
