suggested overflow and return pump

I'm planning on purchasing a euroreef es5-2 from you locally after the tax return comes in, but I'm still unsure about an overflow or a return pump for the system. My tank is a 75 gal, which one that you sell do you suggest?

Hi,

We have used both the CPR and the Marine Life Aquatics unit. We have found the CPR's to be very reliable as long as they are used in conjuction with a venturi powerhead to stay primed. The MLA do not need the venturi pump, but they are also a "J Tube" style overflow. They typically do not flow as fast versus the CPR units, but they are less prone to collecting air bubbles in the top of the syphon. For a return pump it really depends on what you want to do, if you just want to drop in a single elbow return or run it through a SCWD, or Seaswirl, etc. Let me know how you plan on putting it back in.

Jeremy, an even better method than the venturi pump is the Aqua Lifter by Oscar. It is a "vacuum pump" that is not submergable.
It tends to be more reliable.
If you'd like to talk about it, please give me a call.

This is the same pump we are using on our CPR overflow on our office tank. It works out great, although it is not a strong pump per se. If you can keep the pump relatively close to the overflow box it works great!

I'm going to split the return line in the stand to have a bit of the return line going into a refugium which will gravity drain back into the sump. Otherwise I am just doing a single return.

great! I just did my taxes so I will be in to get the Euroreef (hopefully) next fri or sat. I hope to get a return pump as well. Do you have the valves I'd need or would those be at home depot? I forgot to mention that I'd like to make another T off of the main return line with a valve so I can flip a valve and have water drain into a bucket for water changes. Do you guys have something I'd put into the tank for return flow?

Jeremy, I see that it says you're also in Muncie. I gradutaed from Ball State so I guess I can say this...I'm sorry. I couldn't wait to move down here once I was done!

One more question: I bought one too many bags of your carribean aragonite sand. Would you take that back for some sort of store credit? It's been a couple months since I bought it.
