Suggestion: Magnet Holders Standard with Tunze Streams

Just a suggestion - has this ever been considered? I see that they are standard with the new Nano Streams... (which look awesome, BTW)

We have given it a lot of thought at their are two major obstacles. First it would further slow production, second which model magnet holder model would we include. The price would also have to go up slightly and only about 50% of customers buy the magnet holders.

? Not sure what you mean. The pump includes a basic holder set and the magnet holders are sold seperately. The nano Stream includes a magnet holder but it is a much simpler version that can be mass produced more easily.

I apologize for asking my second question so badly! But you answered it anyhow. I was asking if you sold a magnetic holder product for the original Tunze Streams. I knew that there are 3rd party versions of the same and was being too lazy to check your website.

Thanks for the quick response and cool new (and old) products...

I believe if they were sent in the packaged box that the percentage of people using the magnet would go up drastcially. I don't think anyone would even use the plastic brackets if the magnets were offered. Not to knock Tunze, you guys offer the BEST water flow solution, but, the hang on bracket are far from superior. I defintely think the magnets shold be included in the original box. Just offering my opinion.

I agree as well. The plastic stock setup has much to be desired.

Correction, I think only about 50% of the customers are lucky enough to get their hands on magnets ;) Almost everywhere I've called, including a couple shops who stock and move Tunze equipment can get a hold of them. I had the same issue about 6 months ago when I bought the first kit as well. It took almost 2 months to actually get a magnet for it.

Not to mention the loss of revenue (granted minimal) since manufactures are now making magnets that specifically will mount the Tunze.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want ANY other solution for my tank now that I've used the Tunze, but the lack of parts and product is kind of irritating for those of us willing to spend the money.

Guys, the US is only one country who happens to have screwy tanks with plastic trim. I know why we have the trim, it is because the US is huge and Euro tanks don't ship well over long distances. Keep in mind though that we are about 25% of the market and in most other countries the tanks don't have trim and the holders are very easy to use. The problem of charging another $20 for something someone may or may not want, who may need the bigger model magnet if they did want it and then as mentioned the delays, up to now you could get pumps before you could get magnets, the magnets would slow pump shipment.

Now, the good news is, after next week the 6200.50 will be in stock everywhere, I will have them on the shelf here for the first time. We are fast catching up thanks to a lot of changes in production.

We are listening but the only practical way to include magnet holders is to redesign it so it can be more efficiently mass produced.

Thank you for listening, Roger. That is more then we get from many companies!

Funny thing, I don't even own any Tunzes yet. But they are in my plans for future tanks (both near and far). I will probably use one or two of the NanoStreams on a 40G tank I have planned. And then go for some of the daddy Tunzes when I setup a 4x4x2 tank I have planned for a couple years down the line.

Anyhow, the NanoStreams are REALLY going to open up the smaller tank market for Tunze. When I setup my 55g tank, my only reasonable (and affordable) choice for flow was a pair of SEIO m620s, which have done very well. However, had the NanoStreams been available back then.....then Taam would have had a run for it's money.

I love the innovation, progress, and forward thinking-ness of this all!

Couldn't agree more (hope my last post didn't sound like a rant)!

Does anyone have pictures of their plastic holders on an AGA tank or similar? I am not sure I am using them the correct way.

Ray,

Check out my gallery, I have pics of the rail assembled and installed on an Oceanic tank.
