Suggestion to Tunze in North America

In a minor way, I am just venting, but I think it is something Tunze should pay attention to, as well.

I bought a Tunze 240/3 skimmer. When it arrived, I discovered that the mounting hardware does not work on North American "trimmed" tanks. This was annoying both in and of itself but also because I had to figure it out myself.

No problem, I was told: there is a kit that adapts the brackets for such tanks. So I called and ordered one. Meanwhile, the skimmer sits unused next to my tank.

Eventually, the kit arrived. But the kit only works on one mounting bar. The skimmer has two. So I am about to order another kit. The skimmer continues to sit unused next to my tank.

It will be several weeks and money for the kit and twice now for shipping, and this is unacceptable.

I am not really THAT upset. This is simply being posted because I would have thought, even just from the existence of this forum, that Tunze realizes it has a willing North American clientele. I would also have thought that items sold in North America would be sold with what we need to actually use that item!

Thanks, and looking forward, someday, to using my skimmer and my new Osmomat.

Everything that has come in since last June has these kits included, we have already taken care of this, though on rare occasion they are missing they are included now.

Though that being true doesn't hang the gear in my system, I am glad to hear the the problem has been identifed and fixed going forward.

I understand that but Canada is a totally independent market that I have no involvement in, I did my best on my end and got the kits included but older product would be missing these kits.

No, I completely understand. I wasn't being sarcastic! I did send an email and PM to the Canada rep, and we'll see how that goes. Thanks for hearing me out. Just to balance what I have been saying with a positive, this forum is a terrific sign of Tunze's and (to give credit where it is due) your commitment to the customer.
