suggestions for canopy

I need to reseal a canopy and wanted to get some suggestions - my last tank I just painted the inside w/ white paint to hopefully aid in reflection - but now I wonder if the warmth from the lights would warrant using something else - I only have pc lights and do not plan on adding anything else.

I am planning to sand down the inside and reseal- looks like what they used before was some sort of clear coat - but too thin of a layer.

What would you recommend?

I've always used a few coats of polyurethane. Keeps everything nice and water proof.

Flat white paint will help with reflectivity(sp) on the inside of the canopy.

I pained the inside of mine with white exterior paint.

Thanks, so I will prob. go with the white paint - I have some leftover white from painting a bathroom - think I can use that - any concerns re: the heat from the lights?

Gatorolsen , I would go with the white paint you have already . That should do a good job for you . Ted

thanks for all the advice,
I just picked up some lights for Earnie to use at school, which ends up working out perfectly - I can put them on my tank while I work on the canopy without being rushed.
