I have a 150 gallon FOWLR ( with a few mushrooms)with a 384 watt power compact. I looking to add some color to the tank, I was wondering what kind of macro algae can I put in there. I do have a few tangs in there and I'm worried that they will eat it. I looking for a variety of colors.

thank you
Gus

well, you have tangs, so practically anything decorative that also removes nitrates will be eaten up pretty quickly.

you can try the calcerous macros: halimeda is a good candidate and most tangs/surgeon fish will leave it alone.

I agree that calcareous algae such as shaving brush, Halimeda, Udotea, etc are the best bet with tangs. They may pick at others such as maidens hair.
