Hello,

Currently I am running an ASM G3 skimmer in my 240 but I am looking to upgrade. I'm wondering what kind of skimmer some of you are using and your thoughts. I am thinking of a ATB 1050 but would like some hear what you guys think.

Thanks,
Mike

Can you give more info on your system?

How much water volume?

How is your bioload?

Do you need it to be internal or external?

It's 240 gal tank with a 35 gal sump. Not many corals to speak of. For fish I have 3 tangs right now (Blue Hippo, Sailfin and Vlamingi) 2 clowns, diamond goby and a couple of chromis. I would like to add more fish down the road so I would want something to handle a heavy load. I would probably like an internal skimmer since that is what I have now. I have about 31' of height to work with as well.

no need to spend the money on an ATB then. i would go with the new line of Super Reef Octupus.. go check it out..

I love our GEO Beckett Skimmer. Hands down, one of the finest built things I have run across. There are many different ones out there, but I have found that with the large water volumes and several large tangs, its very effective and easy to use. Set it and forget it. If it ever needs adjusted, it's time to clean it.
