Beginning to set up my new tank. I'm on the bottom floor of my condo. Concrete floor with laminate over the top. What would you guys put between the stand and the floor? Steel stand so bottom is open. I'm thinking of a rubber mat and maybe something softer underneath to help absorb some vibration from pumps etc. Ideas? Also looking for inspiration "skinning" the steel tand

tank is the 32" cube discotu was selling Everything is gonna sit under stand when I'm done setting it up.

... you can use "Mole Skin" under the stand to protect the floor.

I've used a yoga type matt ($20 from WalMart - blue in color) under my 80gal sump to quiet things down a bit. Worked "okay"... but the best thing to do is keep the pumps from touching the tank (somehow, someway).

How does the yoga mat hold up against the humidity/getting wet

It rarely gets wet...but has a few times been soaked. And thus far, is holding up just fine. Been under my sump for about 8-10 months.

It's not the ones specifically labeled "yoga"... it's JUST like this one;
Nautilus Club Workout Mat ... but only $19.99
(blue, ribbed on one side and has a black strap & handle to hold it rolled up)

Yeah I would think they might hold up. I mean it might have occured to the makers that people doing yoga sweat and human sweat is probably just as caustic as saltwater frankly, and some peoples probably worse....hahahah. I am liking that idea.
