Take something flat like a credit card or even your fingertip and get that tapetum the heck off there Lizz!

Thanks Justin - well the tapetum moved away from the mantle of the clam. I'm hoping it will keep moving along all the way off the shell and back on to the rock. I'm debating going after it right now - the clam might just be more fussed if I mess with it; but.... the nem might decide to move up again
Don't know why it just started moving. The rest stay put or move short distances very slowly.......
