sump baffles

i would like to build a standard 20 gallon sump (styled after melev's sump design) ... three chambers ... what should the dimensions of the baffles be? anybody? i was thinking 12x12 ...

What size tank is it going to be on?

figure out where the water level is going to be and make the middle baffle 1 inch above that. I have mine like this one goes over the baffle then the second one is raised an ich up of the bottom of the sump and water goes under that and then the third one is the water is to the bottom of the sump and water goes over that one. Does that make sense?
