Sump behind tank in different room

Hi,

I have a small utility room directly behind my planned location of my tank. I think it would be a great spot for a sump, as well as the rest of the support equipment, electrical etc...

My question is...I dont want to put a big hole behind the tank and just route everything through that hole...i would like for it to look somewhat decent and neat.

Is this where a bulkhead could be used for water line connections (coming from overfill/return)?

What about electrical? It wouldnt be the end of the world to install a power strip or two under the cabinet instead of routing it to the utility room, but i think its close enough to do this...but what would visually pleasing way to do this?

Thanks,

Jason

Making the hole in the wall is the easiest and best way. If you cut it and frame it out it can look neat and clean; place it directly behind where the tank and stand are going and it will be covered.

Having a "Filtration" room is so much easier and convenient when doing maintenance and keeping the temperature regulated. You won't be sorry with the little construction required after that first water change.
