sump building help

i remember reading this somewhere...but i dont remember what it was. what do you put in the baffles of a sump to stop microbubbles from going into the next chamber?

also what do you guys reccomend for sealant on sealing the baffles on a sump?

i thought the baffles themselves help, but ive also seen different type of sponges. dont quote me though lol.
