sump decision

Hey guys,

I am in the process of setting up my 120 g for a reef tank and I have a doubt and hope that you can help me.
I am between:
Trigger System sump: 39" X 16" X 15" for roughly $530 or a
Bashesea sump: 48" X 15" X 16" for roughly $750.

I am pretty new to the reef tank (been doing discus for a while though) and I know that a refugium is pretty important however is it
Worth spending the extra couple hundred for the Bashsea sump?

Is your stand big enough for the bashsea? Most 120 are 48 inches long so the inside dimensions of the stand are a little smaller. I personally like a little floor space so I would go with the smaller one anyway.

Luvreefs, that is a truly beautiful setup and one of the cleanest sumps I've ever seen.

It seems to be, however If I go with the bashsea then I wont have any space for a quarantine tank at all, really thinking about going a little small than the bashsea, even though it looks like the bigger the better, $750 seems rather a huge amount of money to invest on, considering that I still have to buy everything else, anyway.

Your qt tank should be at least a 20 gallon and isn't gonna fit with a sump under a 120 regardless. Get the right sump and set up qt tank somewhere else.

Keep in mind you need to have a sump big enough for power outages as well and if you leave yourself a 22"x22" space for a sump crammed next to a qt tank you'll never fit the equipment needed to properly run the 120. Also with the geo sumps your reactors are included and are plumbed from your return pump so by getting a larger pump that acts as a return and feeds reactor(s) you not only save $ on pumps, save outlets on your controller but also cleans up the sump area making maintence a breeze instead of fighting with a million inlet and outlet tubes from reactors.

My tank contintues to run while I turn my valve off to my gfo and unscrew 2 unions to remove it. Just the bottom of the reactor is wet so I don't make a mess pulling it out either.
