Can I use baffles for filter floss? 1 inch for baffles is OK (for each)? If you want mechanical filtration, filter socks are easier to replace (and clean & reuse.)
What kind of overflow will you be using? Bean/Herbie overflows don't do so well with tees. It's usually recommended to tee off the return plumbing to supply the fuge.
Also, make sure your sump has extra capacity to handle any water that back siphons from your display when the power is cut.
My tank is 18 deep and 23 wide1 gallon = 231 cubic inches, so assuming your tank is 23" deep, it holds approx 4.7 gallons per inch of depth. 8.8 gallons would be just over 1.75" of water depth. You should be ok, but you have to make sure there's a siphon break less than 1.75" under the surface.
Look at filter socks if you want mechanical filtration. Teeing off the return like you have shown is generally the preferred means. You can have the order either way. The way you have shown lets you control the flow to the fuge, but saps some of your return flow.
How bigger? 12 inches (I can take 2 inches from the fuge)?I would probably have the return chamber a bit bigger
Aquamaxx CO Cone 2. Footprint 7.5x15 inches.10" might be a bit small for the skimmer, maybe not. It depends on the skimmer.
OK. I'll use 1' and 1.25 for return.1.5" will be plenty big enough for the overflow plumbing. Depending on the drop you could probably get by with 1"
300GPH is OK or more? It won't create a sandstorm?Make sure you have plenty of flow through your fuge - if it goes too slow, detritus settles out and just makes it a garbage dump.
