According to the overflow manufacturer it says not to reduce the size of the piping. Do you think it is appropriate to do it and it will not cause any problems?
HOB overflow boxes all use 1" siphons & drains for 600 GPH.
If more than 600 GPH is needed there is a wider unit with 2-1" siphons & drains.
You are way over sized therefore the reducer bushing suggestion.
I ran a 220 with 2 - single overflow boxes and an Iwaki 70 pushing @ least 1000 GPH.
For those who are interested, I managed to resolve the problem by extending the bottom tube of the durso in the sump. Somehow that created or released the pressure so now when it's turned off and on, the water level returns to normal. Thank you all for feedback
