Letââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s start a sump thread. Currently, I am looking to go Rubbermaid 70 or 100 gallon sump on my downstairs system so those pics are welcome as well. If anyone has a good deal on one let me know thru PM.
Bring on the sump pics ghetto style is welcome too. How are people in the Saint Louis area moving their saltwater these days?

Thanks
rams

I can start it off on the 90RR I am utilizing an ART custom acrylic sump probably 30 gallons because it takes a little over 6 - 5 gallon buckets to fill. Mag 12 return pump an ASM ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ G2 skimmer Kent float valve and some live rock.

Littlest tank watcher lets me know what I need to clean up. :D

Dennis, what's that little center area used for? I see you have your return line tee'd into it. Just curious. In comparison, my sump has alot of salt spray on the edges and some cyano in the fuge, so it's too ugly right now to photograph.

the center has a foam pad for bio filtration and helps stop the micro bubbles. Plus this is where I place carbon in a nylon sock.

the foam pad has a ton of pods running all over it. I plan on replacing it soon and collecting all those pods and starting a culture.

Here's my sump, this was shortly after it was set up about this time last year.

This is a custom made acrylic sump, about 25G max capacity, 20G with pump running

Water flows in on the right side into a bubble tower and through a bubble trap to the refugium where I have Chaeto and Caulerpa growing now (and some of the biggest bristleworms ever. After that it flows through a egg crate grate (not shown) which I can run filter pads for water polishing (50 micron felt pads work great)

Return to tank is accomplished with a Mag 9.5 through a SCWD with outlets on opposite ends of the tank.

Looks good Tim, I like the bubble tower idea which I have on a 29 custom sump. doesn't take up a lot of space and is affective. I filled it with Live Rock chunks but I can see your AquaC fits nicely. Nice custom Job.

Bill, I like the reactor did you make that yourself?

ramtheory -> I didnt' build the sump, I just designed it. John (former owner of Petopia) built the sump, and did a great job.

Here is a better pic showing the bubble tower tucked away in the back corner of the sump. You can also see how nicely the Remora fit into the first sump chamber (as planned) Too bad it's a tad underpowered for my tank.

I run my bubble tower empty, some rubble would probably help, but it does fine as is. Not shown in the pictures is a light and the extra 10 lbs of live rock in the refugium section.

Bubble Tower and Remora Detail

Here is mine:

1st pics shows part of the 100 sump (front) then the skimmer returns into the 75 gallon refugium which drains back into the sump. The skimmer draws from the sump.

Yeah Tom, and in the upper part of the pic there is some red beaded looking thing hanging from some stuff. Is that some kind of Reef God charm necklace? :D

Hehe yea, that is actually a set of beads from Red Lobster.

I am new to this process. However, this sump was just built by a friend and myself on April 3rd & 4th. It is expected to be in use in the next couple of weeks on a 75 gal.
