HELP!!!!!!!

I am in the process of setting up my new tank. It's a 76gal with built in overflow and sump. I am *pretty* sure I have everything hooked up correctly, but for some reason, the sump is making a gushing sound. It is nice and quiet as soon as you turn it on, but then starts a gushing sound that ebbs and flows a lot like waves in the ocean. Something is not right. I can tell it has to do with the intake from the tank into the sump, but I don't know what it is or how to fix it!

I took a video in hopes that someone can help me diagnose this problem and fix it. For some reason it won't load onto this forum, so if anyone is interested in helping, please let me know and I can message you the video. This sound is driving me CRAZY :headwally:

Thanks in advance!

what do you have on top of your overflow pipes? is it just the top of the pipe or is there an arch that goes back down into the water?

Do you have a control valve on the return pipe back to the sump? If so, have you tried adjusting it? Also, do you have enough water in the system?

Send pic's to the forum.
