Sump question

I am getting ready to start building a 30 gallon sump and have seen a couple of different setups on how to set them up. I have seen designs with the refugium on either the left or right side with the skimmer in the middle and return pump next to the skimmer and designs with the refugium in the middle.

What would be the best setup?

IMO i would put the fuge first, that way whatever you have growing in it has a chance to use up some nutrients before your skimmer pulls it out of the water.

But i believe it really depends on personal opinion.

In my AIO, i have two overflows - one on each side. The right one goes through a small fuge then into the skimmer chamber then to the return pump. The other side goes through Filter Floss, Carbon, then through live rock rubble and finally into the return chamber (in the center chamber).
