Sump Question

I decided to add a sump to my system so I'm using a cpr overflow box and started to see concerns about lost siphone once power going out and DT overflowing. I'm lost as to how this can happen I broke siphon and let my return pump empty my sump and and I left space for that to happen by me leaving space did I remove the problem of the DT overflow problem ? Or is there another way to be concerned about ?

Yes careful planning can mitigate most issues..
If your pump runs dry before the tank overflows you took care of that issue..
Now shut off power and make sure sump doesn't overflow..
(This is more about having a proper anti-siphon hole(s) in your return piping just under the water line or some rely on check valves for this but those can/do fail)
