sump set-up

Hi, I am setting up my sump and have a question. It is a 20 gallon long and it will house a Euroreef 5-3, heaters, QT sponge filter, and a mag 5 return pump. I will be using a filter sock on my drain. I will also use a filter sock on my 5-3 if needed.

Do I need to put a baffle or divider to make a section for the skimmer so the water level will remain constant?

How deep do I want to make the water for the 5-3?

Thanks,

Michael

anyone? maybe I should put this in the newbie forum.

I know lots of people use baffles to try and stop microbubbles, is this needed or will the filter sock be enough. I plan on putting water in this thing on Sat.

You don't need baffles or dividers to make the level stay constant, although make sure you check your water level on a daily base do to evaporation. Baffles are good for elimination micro bubbles, or dividing up a sump into sections - like one for a fuge, but not necessary
