What size Sump and pump for GPH would you use for a 180 gallon tank for FOWLR. I am looking around this site and I see that people have really big pumps and skimmers and pumps what Size would be best for a about 10 good size fish with Live Rock in the tank. With no coral.

my 180 had a 2'x2'x6' sump divided into 3 equals (the two sides were DSB fuges and the return pumps, the center had the skimmer and the overflows from the tank), now it's just got a 15"x2'x2' with the skimmer and no fuge's and works great too.

on returns when i had the big sump/fuge i ran 2x VA2600s now i just use a Mag 9

the biggest you can fit under your stand
I hae a 55 under my 180 cause thats the biggest i could fit. I have it sectioned it 3 parts also. skimmer on left return middle and dsb on right and a oceanrunner 3500 for a return pump.

A 75G would make a good sump under a 180. In a submersible pump, an Eheim 1262 would be good.

Do you guys have any pictures of your sumps. I am thinking about going the DIY route as they cost way to much money at the LFS.

Thank for the help I have a pump that is rated at 900 GPH so I am happy about that.
