sump water level

I have an eshopps r75 sump hooked up to ph 300 overflow box with a 300 max per hr of water. The pump is a mag drive 3 plummed to a valve stem with a 4 foot return line(300 at 3 ft,250 at 4 feet). I cannot get a constant water line on this sump. This is connected to a 50 gal high tank. this is my first sump. Any help.

What do you mean by a constant water line? Do you mean the chamber with the pump runs dry? If so, your pump is returning more water then your box is delivering. You need a gate valve, or ball valve or some kind of flow limiter on the OUTFLOW side of the pump. Flow numbers from pump/overflow/powerhead manufacturers are not to be taken as absolutes.

im using an gate valve on the return pump. No matter how much I change it. the return water chamber will move to quickly. Thanks for the reply.

Not sure what you might be doing wrong. I have the same rs-75 sump and 300 overflow box and I am running a Mag 5 with 4' of head. Is your pump pumping too much water in the tank and your overflow box is not returning it to the sump fast enough?

the over flow box is not returning enough water in to the sump. I have been watching it for the last 2 days with little nudging of the valve and cannot get a decent flow in the return chamber.

Is there any air bubble in the overflow box U-tube?

Did you reduce the 1" flex pipe that goes from the overflow box to the sump sock?

What about the 1" flexible hose. How do you have it connected to the overflow box and filter sock in the sump?

I also have the same sump.I took off the bulkhead and put my flexible hose down through the bulkhead hole about 3in from bottom of sump.Open your valve all the way. You can also try lowering your overflow box just a bit

try adjusting your overflow box so it sits lower in the tank.I have a lifereef it can be adjusted by moveing it up or down not sure if you have that option on your overflow sorry

the outside of the overflow does not but I moved the inside of it downward thats inside of the tank. And is staying constant finnally thanks for your help on this.
