Sump water noise/ Overflow adjustment

I have a 90 gal reef erady All Glass tank with the overlow plumbing kit. My question: how do you adjust the height of suction-to-sump pipe? The height is adjustable, but the noise from the water is very anoying. Thanks for any help.

Is the noise coming from the water going into the overflow or the noise of the water coming out into the sump?

ahhh. there are alot of threads that have been posted about this prob. I my self have been hit with this. Here is a link to my build and what I did. It's working great so far.
