Sump with no filter sock

I want to run my sump with no filter sock, but don't want to have the mist from the bubbles.
My drain pulls a lot of air, which in turn makes a lot of bubbles that explode when they surface.
The bubble burst is what creates the mist.
Right now, I have a filter sock that keeps all the bubble explosion to the inside of the sock and I have very minimal to not even noticeable mist.
I use a drawstring type to close the top side of the sock.
What do people do to avoid this mist without a sock?

It will be a cleaner system if you continue to use the sock. It will get all large debris out of the system and clear up the water. Just buy extra socks and clean all at once so you don't have to clean twice a week.

You could have it drain into some PVC pipe with holes drilled in it at the bottom and only small vent holes at the top.

Using Tapatalk so signatures don't show sorry if I miss some info.

I have the same problem as well without a sock. Bubbles explode out of the water and gets everywhere. I just keep the filter sock on and change it every couple of days because I use activated carbon in the sump and I find the carbon lasts longer with the sock on, filtering out the debris.

This won't help you much right now, but ...

On your next build, incorporate a Herbie or Beananimal type overflow. No more bubbles.
