I currently have a 90gallon setup with a older hob whisper filter, reef octopus skimmer, 2 WP-25 PH. My question is I have been running the bio-filter bags made for the whisper filter. These XL filters are getting harder and hard to find. Would it be beneficial to change to running something else in the filter? Filter socks with carbon? Chemi Pure Elite?
I know everyone is going to suggest running a sump but at this time it isn't an option.
