is it normal for sun corals to spit out their food a few hours later?

I feed mine every two nights, i feed them thawed mysis shrimp, they all take the food willingly but then a few hours later they seem to throw up, spitting out a ball of mysis they were fed.

is this normal behaviour?

Lots of times, after i feed frozen cyclopeeze, a few hours later it spits some of it back out. It only does this once in a while so i always figured it was spitting out the extra it gobbled up, kinda like an anemone.
How much did you feed it? Did it spit all of it back up?

How long have you had it? What are your water parameters?
Have you tried feeding something else? maybe frozen cyclo or krill?

i havent tried feeding it anything else

my ph has been low lately around 7.8 constant, I am trying to raise it.

ive had it for a week now, it opens up everynight to feed.

You need to get it eating quick, so i'd try something different. Frozen krill or frozen cyclopeeze soaked in selcon and zoecon works great for me.

I have also had good luck feeding Cyclop-Eeze to these guys.

You might want to decrease the amount you are feeding. You don't have to drown each polyp with food. A light covering of anything small and meaty will be fine.
