Sun Coral update

Hi there - thought I would give you all an update about how my sun coral is doing!
I've had it for two weeks now, and I think all the hassle is paying off!
Also, big thanks to EllieSuz for taking me under her wing and pointing me in the right direction!

I started off keeping the coral in a container so that I could pull it up as needed for feeding.
My pistol shrimp was very confused about why he couldn't reach that nice piece of rubble - he had a place all picked out for it I'm sure.
Luckily, the suns were protected by the aquarium force-field - aka weggies container :)

After doing this for almost two weeks (twice a day - hubby even did it once :) ), I can leave the coral in it's spot and just feed it with a syringe! Yay!

Took this picture at 5.30 this afternoon:

that is brilliantly bright, its looks very happy, what are you feeding it?
you gave me an idea, think i am going to scatter suncorals all over the tank so to produce that pop :D

looks good, Lizz. Props to Eileen for being a good cookie.
Do either of you use that long syringe feeder made by Kent or a turkey baster?

Thanks soIRNY :)
It gets mysis, coral frenzy and rod's coral food. - mostly mysis.
If I were you, I would start with one and see if you want to add more - they're gorgeous but so much work (at the beginning at least - it should be much easier now)!

Thanks Gary :)
Both - I borrowed a home-made feeder from Eileen, which works great for smaller foods, and used a turkey baster for the mysis - also useful for shoeing away the cleaner shrimp :)

Yes, I call it my coral feeder and shrimp whacker. The little buggers have learned to give it a wide berth. Lizz, your Sun is looking good. It just takes a little dedicated tlc and you're obviously giving it what it needs.
