after a short accimilation ( i was in a hurry ) of 10-15 minutes
i placed him in a low flow bottom of my eclipse 6.
his yellow/orange part is turning grey, all the polyps. can i still nurse it back to care? what is my best bet as of now?

probably just stressed. What do you have to feed it? Got any frozen cyclopeeze?
Are you going to try the cup method of feeding?

put a couple gallons of your tank water in a 5g bucket with a small powerhead, put the sun coral in, drop in a good chunk of frozen cyclopeeze & some mysis....start the powerhead and let it go for 15mins......i would do it everyday until it shows improvement & full polyp extension

the short acclimation period may have some to do withthe polyps turning grey. The shock of the different water conditions may be the cause of your problem. Just taget feed it and hope for the best and it should bounce back for you.

thank you guys. i guess feeding is the way to go right now, i shall do it tonight. once again thanks for being helpful. i hope the gray coloration is not a sign of sure death.
i will probably feed it vitamin enriched mysis shrimp and grounded up cyclopeeze wafers.

Definitely, don't take it out of your tank into a bucket every day to feed it! All that will do is stress it out even more. Put a small cup or tupperware bowl with some holes drilled in it. Then you can squirt with a baster or syringe as much food as you want without fouling your water or other inhabitants messing with it.
Put the cup over it and squirt a drop or 2 of selcon, zoecon, zoe, whatever you have and a tiny bit of frozen cyclo in it. This should get it to open up. If it opens feed it more, if it doesnt keep trying 1-2 times a day until it does. You need to get it eating as soon as possible. Shouldn't take more than 2-3 days.

Just put a hole in the top and 2 sides, real small holes. Mine are just big enough for a joes juice syringe tip to fit in. A tiny bit will seep out but very little( i cover the top hole with a small rock). What seeps out will get eaten by your other inhabitants and the vast majority of whats in the cup, the sun will eat. What he misses, the hermits and my shrimp get after i take the cup off.
The first few times, until he opens wide, just swquirt a tiny bit in to get him "trained". After a few days he start opening. Mine actual starts to open now as soon as i put the cup over it.

i'm trying to post a pic of mine during feeding but cant get it small enough???
How small do you have to size it to get it down to 50kb???

I'm way to computer illiterate to figure it out. If you want to pm me your email , ill send you the pics
