Sun drying rock

Alright I've got some rock I wanna dry and put into my newly cycling tank. How long should I keep it out in the sun?

I didn't really think a acid bath was necessary since it's a newly cycling tank. I understand it could prolong the cycling process, but is it that much?

I have had my rock out for 2 months, but sitting in the sun for a few weeks should be OK.

I forgot to ask you this, what is your particular reasoning behind killing the rock off? Also, if the rock went from tank to outside you might get some sort of die off when it's introduced to the tank, which is why I recommended the bleach bath. That will absolutely kill everything on those rocks, just make sure after you do that you either let them sit in the sun for awhile to let the bleach evap off or soak them in ro/di plus prime.
