Sun Polyps not opening?

My new set up came with a colony of Sun Polyps. They do not seem to be opening up. Is this normal? Everything else is looking great.:(

Sun polyps typcially don't open during the day (at least in tanks - I have seen them open in the Carribean during the day). After lights out on your tank tonight, get a flashlight and check it out then - should have polyps out. Then you can feed with mysis or other chunks of food.

Some have been able to train their sun polyps to open during the day, I have not been able to do that. Yet.

They say you can move them to a darker area of the tank, and put some mysis juice on them directly, repeating until they learn to open up. I haven't had the time (patience) to do this correctly.

Mine is at the bottom under a halide. On occasion, throw in some cyclop-eeze (frozen or freeze dried)during the day. Eventually mine would open up anytime I added it to the tank. It smelled it and would come out full bloom w/in 1/2 hour then I'd feed it mysis etc. That way I don't have to stay up till the lights go out to feed it if I'm tired.:D
