Very nice and innovative setup Vitor!

I may have missed it in the previous posts but I don't think I saw anything that describes the plumbing between your display tank and sump. It looks like your sump is above the level of the tank, is that correct? How do you move the water between the two? Do you pump from the display tank to the sump and let it overflow from the sump and gravity feed back to the display tank?

Larry

Hi Larry!

Let me see how can i express my self in " bad english"...

I have 2 incoming flow from the tank to the sump, and 2 outgoing flow from the sump to the tank.

In one exit from the sump to the tank i have a 3000lt/h pump that allsow feeds the skimmer, in another i have a 2500lt/h.

Has you know, water levels it self, so what happens is that when the level is to high in the tank, the water flows back to the sump leveling it self over and over, is the same principle in every dry colum.

Hi there,

Lovely idea you got. Did not read whole thread but what do you do for gas exchange. I see your system is nearly entirely closed off to the atmosphere?

Clinton

Hi palmerc!

The gas exchange ocorres in the sump house and in the tank openning.

For exemple, on the Winter time because of the rain, the tank as the cover alltime, but in the sump house i have it open, in the summer time i take both of the covers out, nigh and day.

Vitor, do you have a wishlist of corals that you will be getting soon?

I'd like to see some dendrophyllias in your tank along with blue zoos, other coloful zoos, and ricordias.

What do you feed your tank besides food for your fishes? DTS,etc?

Hi!

I wish the get lots of montipora, acropora, and all tipes of zohantes.

At this moment i feed the fish with flakes, nori, and brine shrimp, with the corals i use ciclopeze a few hours after sunset.

Anyone with a basement want to volunteer to do a similar project?
It could be done on a flat roof too.
It would be interesting to have the tank's top at ground level and then have a viewable area from the sides of the tank in a basement. It would be great to be able to view through the sides with this type of construction. The tank would just be at the ceiling though.
You could construct built in bunk beds at tank level to view the tank and take naps in.

Parabéns!
I've been reading a lot on RC for the last few weeks. Don't have a SW tank yet. This is the coolest tank I've seen so far. So cool it gets my first post. Can't wait to see more.
