what to know if the are a hardi fish or should i get another kind of anthias do the need to be feed 2-3 times a day or once is enough its to put in my new 180 g thats almost done
thanks rick
They are reasonably hardy once established - If you feed liberally then twice /day is fine. It is not always easy finding a healthy specimen. I wouldn't put it in with aggressive or extremely boisterous fish. It needs a place to shelter. Wouldn't be my choice for an SPS highly lit tank. This is a shy fish that will probably not join the feeding frenzy at mealtimes -as long as you've got good circulation to get the food to it and/turkey baster feeding - it's ok.
Angel*fish saw in your gallery that you have bicolor anthias are they shy i'm trying to figure out what kind to buy i whant somrthing thats hardy not to shy whit nice colors there is the squareback thats nice to
Mine is not a shy fish . This is a fish who wants to rule the entire tank. He starts scraps with the blackcap basslet. He was recently quite ill with strange symptoms... wasn't eating, had weird indentations & was hiding in a hole for a week. I think he was suffering from a concussion from ramming himself into his reflection. Did he die? Heck no. He's practically himself again bossing everyone around etc.
If I can catch him, I will send him to you No one in the tank likes him except for my 2 little ignorant dispars who think he's the big daddy dispar anthias
Mr. Not Shy & Tough as Nails
My favorites are dispar anthias - they act like littlefish should IMO
