Has anybody been able to keep this finicky fish locally? If you have please let me know your secret.

I love them and would like to be able to keep one but they always seem NEVER to make it, definitaly on my list of hardest fish to keep.

The comonly suffer from decompression, swim bladder problems, and are some of the finickiest eaters I have EVER seen.

Use caution if you see them and make sure they are eating in the store. Even then, they are a BIG gamble at best.

My latest one was eating in the store, and was big enough fend for itself, however it still only lasted two days. These are definatly my unicorns!!

Ill take some SRTN over these anyday!!

I had 2 for a couple of months. I got them from another reefer, but sadly ich got them, and they just kinda disappeared.

John had some in about 2 weeks ago that were really small and eating PE mysis.

Yeah thats what you were saying this weekend, eating in the store is a big leap.

But are they still alive? I have had a few that looked good until about a day later, then.....belly up.

I think they all sold but I'll have to talk to John. I really wanted one but my bio-load is full in my 55 reef. Mabey he can order some more soon and you can watch them for a few days and pick the one thats eating/looks the healthiest.

I have Sunburst Anthias in my tank for about 4 months now. Luckily I have an LFS that work with me on this. The fish was eating when it arrive, but not much. They kept it for me for 2 more weeks to make sure and the fish does not have more aggresive tank mate during that 2 weeks. After two weeks, the fish eat a lot more. In my experience, Sunburst is kind of shy fish and need a lot of rockwork to hide. My sunburst always stay in one shaded area and seldom go out that far from this area, except during feeding. Even that, I tried to turkey blaster some food in the area.
Good luck!

At All About Fish, they had 4 in one of their tanks that were not listed for sale all eating for at least a month. Suddenly they took down the tanks in the middle (replacing) and I have no idea what happened to them.

I'd also like to keep these one day, though again, I heard they're hard to keep =(

Any success stories so far?

I had one for a few months before selling it. It ate mysis right from the get go. They need peaceful tankmates, and to be fed often. I've never heard that they're particularly difficult.
